Non-professional musicians who live or study in SK OR study outside of the province and have competed in a SK Music Festival within the preceding 5 yrs OR live within 100km of SK border
To be eligible for any scholarships or awards, performers must be a resident of Moose Jaw or district or studying with a Moose Jaw Teacher.
The Moose Jaw Music Festival has provided performance and educational opportunities in Moose Jaw and area for 75 years. Areas of competition for musicians include: voice, piano, guitar, strings, woodwind, brass, percussion, pipe and electronic organ, choir/school music including special education, multicultural, spoken word, small ensembles, as well as band and orchestral classes. Entrance to the Moose Jaw Music Festival is open to all ages, all ethnic groups and people of all religions. Participants may enter any class for “adjudication only” or participate in our non-competitive classes and forego marks and scholarships. To support our local festival, the SMFA hires qualified professional musicians to serve as adjudicators each year.
